Google, Link Popularity and The Future of Text-Link-Ads

December 30th, 2006 by Vlad | Filed under Other (Fom Old Blog).

In the middle of December there was an article at the Official Google Webmaster Blog on Building Link-Based Popularity.

According to the article it is clear that Google acknowledges two basic ways of increasing website’s link-based popularity:

  1. Long term option of developing natural links.

  2. Short term option via link spamming tactics as buying links.

Many bloggers today relying on websites like Text-Link-Ads(aff) to increase their revenue stream. As Google has modified it’s link-weighting algorithms, purchased links will of course decrease in value.

What is your take on the future of Text-Link-Ads?
