My First $10,000 Paid Review- No Disclosure Required.
July 24, 2007
Update: This post contains irony and sarcasm. Things indicated in parenthesis, where not actual. However the request from the advertiser reguarding disclosure is.
Well not exactly, if approved my share will be $6,500 (Update: It is impossible to ask more than an advertiser has specified). Not bad for one review!
I hope you do not think I am serious, even though I did submit a bid to an advertiser at $10,000 (Update: It is impossible to ask more than an advertiser has specified) over at Sponsored Reviews. Here is why I did it. After browsing to see if there were new opportunities I have spotted an advertiser that demanded following:

Needless to say, this is very disappointing. Sponsored Reviews addressed twice the issue of disclosure on their website. Once in Getting Started Guide for Bloggers:
Disclosure Requirements
It is up to you how you disclose your relationship with the advertiser. You can either
include a statement in the post, or you can include a disclosure somewhere on your site.
Second time on their blog in 10 Rules for Responsible Blogging:
7. Disclose sponsored posts: sponsored reviews represent an efficient way for advertisers to build buzz and for bloggers to earn money. It is essential, however, that you make your position regarding those posts transparent in front of your readers. First of all you can insert a disclosure notice at the end of the sponsored post. Secondly you can create a dedicated page on your blog outlining how sponsored reviews will be treated and what the readers should expect from them.
Irony of it would be if advertiser in question accepts my offer, so far I have disclosed every single sponsored post on every blog I use for sponsored reviews. But to be honest, I do not see that advertiser accepting my offer. What I do hope for is guys at Sponsored Reviews to take notice, unless of course things changed and disclosure is no longer required.
