Reclaiming Fatherhood

November 26th, 2007 by Vlad | Filed under Uncategorized.

San FranciscoI hesitated to talk or link to my new undertakings, however at the end of the day I feel about other bloggers as my family- big and some times crazy(in a good way). So I would not feel right to leave for San Francisco without writing this post.

I will be attending a conference titled Reclaiming Fatherhood. I will be writing about the conference on Healing After Abortion. This conference (first ever of it’s kind) was organized by the National Office of Post Abortion Healing and Reconciliation and its funder, and a dear friend of mine Vicki Thorn.

So there you have it, now you know my passion. I really do not know where this is taking me, but I know that many men and women can benefit from it. Even as you read this, I am almost certain that  you may know some one who is dealing with aftermath of abortion. If your have a blog about related topics , I will be ever thankful for some link love. If you are an expert in this field, please consider to become contributor (co-author) of Healing After Abortion.

Now you know what my passion is, and may understand why it can not be monetized, but benefactors are always welcomed.

What you are writing about is indeed needed and is definitely for a good cause. I just had a very close friend who went through a serious emotional season due to an abortion. And what she went through emotionally, I would never want to wish it on anyone!

So I know based on observing my close friend just how serious of an issue this is.

Very powerful words…I think this is something that needs to be seen by those that had to go through this…funny how I was for abortion when I first started having casual sense but now at the age of 24 I would never want this to happen

From what I have personally experienced, I have come to understand that there are 2 kinds of abortion: threatened abortion which leads to miscarriage and the intentional abortion b/c of unplanned pregnancy. Whichever the case may be, the pain does differ but the sense loss lingers.

Words are not enough to describe the nobility of someone who ministers to people in this circumstance.

Btw, hope everything turns out well in that conference you attended. Both me and my hubby are pro active parents and it pays to be one. I appreciate the title of the conference in itself. It is about time for fathers to step up! =)

    Jannie,

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Yes I am back from the conference. I will be blogging here and on my other blog about it. It was enlightening to say the least.

I never understood how the law in the US works, but apparently men have absolutely nothing to say in the abortion decision making. In fact a married woman has a right to abort her child without her husbands consent.

I personally believe that every abortion is a heavy burden to carry.

You're right, especially if it's intentional. Looking forward to that post about the conference. :-)
