The person responsible for the sentence in the title of this post is also responsible for converting me completely to Ubuntu. Who is he? Sam Harrelson of Affiliate Fortune Cookies and Cost Per News. If you are not subscribed to his blogs you are missing a lot. I also need to give credit to Pranav of FinalTag (make sure to subscribe to Pranav’s blog as well) for introducing me to Ubuntu for the first time ever.
Anyway, back to Ubuntu. It all started on or around my birthday when I humorously challenged Bill Gates to by me and Apple Computer. Pranav was the first to comment on that post:

Why not just download ubuntu linux instead?
That was the first time ever I’ve heard of Ubuntu. The only regret I have that I did not download the Ubuntu right then.
It took me way over one month to make up my mind, and Sam was instrumental in providing me with some excellent resources and tips.
So what do think so far of Ubuntu? Well, it has been only 24 hours since I have installed it on my laptop and I already do not know where to begin.
But here are just few points:
- Overall performance of my computer has increased. In fact I feel as if I just bought a new computer. It is fast and had not even came close to freeze on me in last 24 hours. The only time I had to re start my computer when I had installed new software.
- Applications. There was only one application that made me keep Widows (yes unfortunately on my desktop I still have Windows)- Adobe Photoshop. But after working a little with GIMP Image Editor I know that will not miss Photoshop that much.
- I browse the Internet about 10 time faster (if not more) then I did with Windows.
- But one of the most amazing thing is that Norton is not trying to give me a seizure with all sorts of of warnings about “security” risks to my computer.
I am amazed by the incredible amount of software available for Ubuntu, some of which may is much better than either Microsoft or Apple and all of it is available to any one for free.
So to help the Ubuntu cause I have decided to donate half of income form this blog to Ubuntu and it’s developers.
As I was finishing this post Sam posted on BumpZee that even Mat Catts is on board the Ubuntu train. Sam, how about Ubuntu community over at BumpZee?
I would love to blog more about Ubuntu, and I will in the future. Now I am off to get rid of Windows on my desktop!
